Texas holdem poker is one of the greatest inventions ever and one of the most profitable games you could ever play. It has started out as a little game, and now it has turned into a huge money making market played all over the world especially online. There is nothing like playing Texas holdem online and making a constant living. Having the proper holdem help resources available is a must for your career to grow into a profitable one.
Poker strategy books and knowing the proper Texas holdem odds can take you a long way. When I was brand new to the online poker world, I definitely made some costly mistakes that cost me lots of money, but I gained valuable and irreplaceable experience.
Texas holdem poker treated me horrible in the beginning because the biggest mistake I ever made was depositing 50 dollars after 50 dollars and losing it all in a few minutes on horrible suckouts in cash games. I mean HORRIBLE suckouts. Such as my AA getting smashed by 10 9, JJ, QQ, etc… it happened to me lots and I could not believe it. This one hand I will never forget. I built my bankroll to around 300.00 and I was playing 1 / 2 no limit Texas holdem poker. I was sitting there on the button with AA. Now I know how to play Texas holdem and I know we will need to raise it up here on the button and that is exactly what I did. It got raised to 7 dollars by the guy in first position, next person calls the 7 dollars and then it gets to me. I make it 20 dollars to go. 20 DOLLARS in 1 /2 NO LIMIT is a lot. There was only 1 caller, the guy that initially raised called the 20 dollars. The flop comes 3, 9, 2 all rainbow cards. No chance of a straight draw, flush draw, nothing. I bet 100 dollars on the flop because I want to take this one down and take no risks, I get re raised for around 75.00 more which is their all in. I call and he/she turns over POCKET 3′s! No way could someone call 20 dollars basically heads up with pocket 3′s and hit their set! Anyways, to make a long story short I lost 200.00 in that one hand and nothing could have been done to prevent it.
I just absolutely hate cash games and this is exactly why. Now, I constantly just play sit n go’s to earn a stable income. After this horrible beat I have never played cash games again and also I have never had to deposit again. Sit and go’s have allowed me to quit my job, buy a new house, and a new car. The great thing about sit n go’s is you can only lose a set amount and nothing more. Poker is a game of luck and skill. The luck part is being able to withstand horrible beats and recover from them. If you take a horrible beat in a poker sit n go game, you will only be losing your poker chips and the buy in of the tournament, not your whole bankroll.
