  2. jaacobbowden Said,

There’s a lot of different types of grips that are taught – the overlap grip (most popular), the interlock grip, the baseball grip, the double overlap (Jim Furyk), the reverse handed grip (Josh Broadway or Chris Couch (Chris uses it around the green), etc. So I would say that there is no “right” grip, since there are so many that work. If you like it, it makes sense to you, and it works for you…then I’d say go for it.

  3. FootballHero6 Said,

    hi thanks for the advice!

i was recommended to place my left hand on the grip with my thumb pointing upwards. You then wrap your right hand over the top, creating a stron grip.

    Is this right?

  4. 63Brummie Said,

Absolutely… Majors have been won with all three grip styles…

  5. jaacobbowden Said,

If that’s the ones that works best for you, then I’d definitely say to go with it. :-)

  6. marlo916 Said,

baseball bat grip always works best for me… i cant get any farther drives with any other grip, and im always afraid the club’s gonna slip out.

  7. Nintendo0994 Said,

i would go with wutever feels more comfortable, but if it were my situation i would look at the pros and see wut they use. if wut they use is comfortable and it works for you, go for it.

    thanks friend

  9. jaacobbowden Said,

Yeah, there are definitely different grip options that you can use successfully. I’d say just go with the one that makes the most logical sense to you.

  10. aDveebay Said,

this is a great video but i have been told different grips by many people. do i just go with the grip that is most comfortable to me or?

  11. jaacobbowden Said,

    You bet.

Generally the top hand for a neutral grip has the thumb straight down the shaft. For the bottom hand, there’s some people that say it should be straight down & also touching your index finger…& some say it should be crossed over the shaft. I’ve done both, they both work fine.

There’s any number of acceptable grip variations like that which work. For consistency sake, pick something & go with it. Making frequent changes (even subtle ones) makes it hard to develop consistency.

Are My thumbs ment to be in a straight line? and is there ment to be a gap between them?
I think my grip is my single biggest problem.
