Tennis Backhand Ball Machine Drill

Posted by admin

www.fuzzyyellowballs.com This ball machine drill will help you work on your tennis backhand directional control. I’ve set up cones that I’m aiming for. First, I hit backhands crosscourt. Second, I hit backhands down the line. Finally, I alternate between crosscourt and down the line backhands. This drill is also great exercise / great for developing proper footwork. Moving around the cone works on the various steps I need to move around the tennis court correctly. I highly recommend you use …

  1. billlouhaha Said,

most coaches can use both one or two hands so they can teach both

also when they are feeding balls to the students its easier with one hand,

  2. acantu77 Said,

Finally, a tennis video with a left handed player!! Yes!! Nice form & footwork!

  3. RafaeINadal Said,

    Sorry, don’t bother

  4. TheLovelyPiano Said,

I have a Wilson ball machine.

You look like you have a two-handed forehand because I’m not a lefty. Your videos would rock if you were using your right hand. I wish I had learned with my left hand like Nadal, then I could be more competitive. I wonder if it’s too late to start using my left hand?

What do you think? Should I if I’ve been playing for 17.5 years, since I was 10? Why bother?

  5. GamingDisasters Said,

lol 1h backhand is nice :)

  6. bingocookie Said,

Thanks, this reaally helped me with my backhand.

    & i love your videos, it’s so helpful (:

  7. chao5cuber Said,

I know exactly what u mean buddy

  8. piesek56 Said,

nice backhands! However, I always thought you had a one handed backhand!

  9. bluewaters4567 Said,

Is there HIP rotation in backhand as much as there is in forehand. I always felt backhand has less hip rotation than forehand. Will seems to be hitting with full rotation.

  10. NonDairyYogurt Said,

I wish I could play my tennis matches in third person… Play my matches like a video game… ya know? Tennis is just SO awesome with the third person view

  11. fchansa Said,

Seems to be quite a good drill. The video is a little bit long though, you could have shown it in half the time.
Nevertheless: I really like your channel, keep on going!

  12. Arnatuile11 Said,

i think backhand is easier.. your body isn’t in the way its a much free – er swing. ( is that a word?)

  13. Babolat3216 Said,

It’s not the string. It’s the player. :D

  14. sourpatch22 Said,

federer doesnt seem to have any problems :P

  15. darthtau Said,

really?? me too! (but i use a semi-western grip)

  16. Alexandahls Said,

    it’s always out lol :-)

  17. fiifi2007 Said,

i soooo wish i cud afford a ball machine

  18. y2jandy Said,

body mechanics. its simply becoz ur elbow cant bend backward and wrap around your body.

  19. y2jandy Said,

I always thought Will hit a one-handed, I use the 2-handed myself too, I’ve tried to learn both.
To me, 2-handed is more stable and consistently powerful as if u try to power a 1handed it takes a lot more focus to level your arm and easier to have elbow injuries

  20. Babolat3216 Said,

Mine’s like… At the baseline, I have a more solid flatter steadier backhand and my forehand hits heavy topspin coz it’s western. It’s like my backhand receives faster balls better than my forehand lol. :D

  21. richyban Said,

Me too! but my forehand is a lot more consistent.. at times when the ball is in the right place on my backhand side I can kill it :P haha

  22. Babolat3216 Said,

For some reason I have a better backhand than my forehand but I use my forehand more. :| Does anybody feel the same way? lol

  23. epikcyne Said,

Wow your backhand is so consistent. Good work

  24. Rafasgrl Said,

the thing im impressed on, is that u didnt even touch the net! spin makes the backhand a whole lot easier!

  25. mageXownz Said,

    TEACH ME THAT BACKHAND !!!!!!!
